What To Wear To The Gym Right Now

Got the fancy sneakers? Here’s the gym kit that you might have overlooked – the socks, tights and bag that will help you get that summer beach body in no time.

If you’re anything like us, you’ll be twiddling your thumbs in anticipation for your summer holiday. As well as exercising digits, however, many of us might look to give the rest of our body a workout, in preparation for having to show more of it off in warmer climes. But perhaps you haven’t entered a gym since winter. Perhaps you have “misplaced” your gym kit. Perhaps you just want better stuff. Whatever happens, now is the time to invest in some new gear. Both in terms of appearance and performance, below are some examples of the best fitness wear you can get.

Gym socks are often nothing more than an afterthought. The socks that are least loved. The socks that haven't made the work or weekend roster. But since you’re going to be putting them through their paces, you should invest in a proper pair. And put them in some decent sneakers that will help your workout. Like these, by Nike Training – replete with lightweight, breathable mesh, Flywire cables and stabilised rubber soles to ensure your foot is nicely supported whether you’re running, lifting weights or doing a bit of both (not at the same time, mind).

If you’re a regular in the gym, you may be well-acquainted with tights. If so – upgrade to these by 2XU. They’re better than the ones you own, we promise. But if you’re more of an amateur, you might think tights are for superheroes only – and your core strength would suggest you are anything but. However, whatever workout you’re doing - these things help improve it. They’ll keep your muscles warm, dry (if you’re outside) and add support. And why not log your new found levels of achievement with this nifty Suunto watch?

You can’t keep using your office rucksack as your gym bag. Your diary’s starting to smell like a locker room. So why not go all out and invest in a bag made by a brand favoured by professional athletes? 2XU’s shell waterproof holdall is spacious enough to get everything you need inside (including this water bottle) while providing enough motivation to get you to the gym. You can’t really use it for anything else, and it’s quite an investment to simply neglect.
