Designed exclusively for MR PORTER. In 1936, Bass Weejuns made design tweaks to a Norwegian farm shoe, adding a strip of leather with a diamond cutout to the uppers. The updated version was adopted by American prep school students of the time, who personalised theirs by sticking a coin into the slot. The name 'Penny Loafer' stuck, and the style remains iconic to this day. This version is hand-crafted from supple burgundy Horween Chromexcel leather and finished with rugged moccasin stitching.
