Developed in the 19th century, the process of mercerising cotton involves bathing each fibre in sodium hydroxide followed by a neutralising acid wash. The result is exceptionally strong threads that possess a slight sheen as evidenced by A.P.C.'s crew neck sweater. It's the silken finish that lends this classic piece a sense of luxury - contrast yours with broken-in chinos. Shown here with a Nudie Jeans shirt, A.P.C. jeans, Maison Martin Margiela sneakers and an A.P.C. bag.
