Athletic and stylish, bringing to mind traditional hockey and rugby jerseys, our favourite striped sweaters for spring are characterised by broad bands of colour, in contrast to the narrower lines we sported last season. Although knitted sweaters are now a staple of the casual wardrobe, they were worn by sportsmen in the early 20th century before lighter, more breathable fabrics became the norm for active wear. This season, designers from Oliver Spencer to Michael Bastian have put their own spin on the thick-striped sweater; click through the gallery above to see five of our favourites.
