The craftsmanship

All Purple Label suits are made entirely in Italy by expert tailors. The lining, shoulders, armholes, collars, buttonholes and interior labels are all hand stitched, using only the best threads. With proper care, a Purple Label suit can last a lifetime.

02
The materials

The fabrics used for Purple Label tailoring are carefully chosen and are all produced in Italy or England. This suit is constructed from super 150s, 100% wool material, and the jacket is lined with Italian Bemberg, a high-quality fabric made from natural cellulose fibres. All materials, including those used for interior components, are made of natural fibres.

03
The construction

The jackets of all Purple Label suits are made with full canvas construction. This means that, from the shoulder to the hem, the front of the jacket has a canvas layer between the outer fabric and the lining. This interlining is hand sewn in place, and gives an excellent drape to the jacket. Over time, the canvas will mould more closely to the shape of the wearer's body, making it distinctively yours.

04
The fit

The 'Drake' fit of this suit gives a more contoured silhouette than the Purple Label's slightly looser 'Savile Row' cut. The elegant two-button, notched-lapel jacket has structured shoulders, and perfectly complements the elegant waistcoat and classic-fit trousers.

05
The style

The three-piece suit fell out of favour throughout the second half of the 20th century, but recently the style has been enjoying something of a revival. Aside from their versatility, three-piece suits have a certain traditional elegance about them which two-piece suits cannot touch.

06
The details

The collar, lapel, chest pocket and pocket flaps are all hand finished with decorative pick stitching, which is an elegant, sartorial detail. The buttons are crafted in Italy from natural buffalo horn, while the functional sleeve buttons are 'kissing' (never quite overlapping), which is a hallmark of a handmade jacket.

"Classic, to me, is something that is timeless, enduring. The things that never go out of style. The kinds of clothes I design are the kinds of things I believe in, the kinds of things that last forever. I love things that stay."
Mr Ralph Lauren

Mr Ralph Lauren is a man who needs little introduction. From humble beginnings in the Bronx, New York City, and an initial collection of ties in 1967, Mr Lauren has gone on to build a multi-billion dollar style empire, creating one of the world's best-known luxury brands in the process. Utterly synonymous with an elegant, refined lifestyle, Ralph Lauren has in many respects become the embodiment of contemporary American style. From the polo fields of Palm Beach to the boardrooms of Manhattan, Mr Lauren's lifestyle philosophy is unerringly consistent. The signature Purple Label was launched in 1994, as the highest-end men's line, specialising in supremely luxurious tailoring.
