Brogues: Facts & Tips


The perforations on brogues were originally used to provide drainage when walking through Highland marshes, but the resulting decoration from the added functionality caught on

The oldest known leather shoe was discovered by archaeologists in Armenia in 2010 and is more than 5,500 years old

To keep your brogues looking their best, we suggest storing them on cedar wood shoe trees and leaving at least a day between each time you wear them. The wood will maintain the shape and absorb excess moisture

When putting on your brogues, always use a shoehorn, as forcing shoes onto your feet will likely stretch the leather and shorten their life
