Within the world's leading style magazines, Mr Derek Blasberg is as ubiquitous in the party pages as he is on the mastheads. The editor-at-large at Harper's Bazaar, editor at VMAN, senior editor at V Magazine, and New York Times bestselling author who has interviewed luminaries including Lady Gaga, has partied everywhere from Thailand to Copenhagen. Luckily for us, the 30-year-old fashion writer still finds time to contribute to MR PORTER. In 2010, the then creative director of Barneys, Mr Simon Doonan, described Mr Blasberg as "a social catalyst who can cut across all different levels, mixing society ladies with strippers".
The Missouri-born New Yorker, therefore, needs a wardrobe that works just as hard as he does. "It was always important for me to look my best and get dressed up," he says. "My mother told me appearance isn't the most important thing, but it definitely matters. Fashion isn't what you put on every morning; it's a way of life."
