Likened to Ms Lana Del Rey and Florence and the Machine, this Brooklyn duo's cinematic pop has piqued the interest of everyone from Jay-Z to Mr Tom Ford. Born in the blogosphere and signed to Sony, producer Mr Max Hershenow and singer Ms Lizzy Plapinger have become defined by their stylish Tumblr page - using it to distribute recent EP Candy Bar Creep Show and the viral video for "Hurricane". Disbanding his San Francisco rock outfit Girls last summer, Mr Christopher Owens' solo venture sees him ditch the scuzzy guitars and grungy attire for folk-influenced songs and a strictly suited look. Having fronted Saint Laurent's SS13 ad campaign last fall, and with this month's release of autobiographical debut Lysandre, the Miami-born songwriter has come a long way - especially considering past battles with drug addiction.
