Dark leather boots have a place in a man's wardrobe whether his style is inspired by rock'n'roll, or by Savile Row. Depending on the execution, a noirish shade can lend a pair of boots an air of formality, rebellion or minimalism. The six pairs featured here are the best of the styles available this season, and range from the Bohemian chic of a suede pair by Antwerp-based fashion pioneer Ms Ann Demeulemeester (this is the last collection she worked on prior to resigning from her eponymous brand last November) to the buttoned-up British style of Church's made-in-Northampton Chelsea boots.
From the office to the nightclub these boots run the gamut of shapes, forms and attitudes. What they share in common is the quality of production, the success of the design, and the fact that they're as dark as the night.
