In an industry dominated by elders, Mr Tobias is a veritable spring chicken. After establishing his award-winning practice, Tobias Partners, in 1999 at the age of 22, and undertaking a series of impressive residential and commercial projects, he has gone on to become a key influence on Sydney's changing skyline.

I bought my first pair in Sardinia about four years ago and because of their quality they have aged beautifully - not a normal trait with sunglasses. They have an inimitable timeless shape with incredible lenses that seem to work with everything I wear. The fact that they fold up is a brilliant touch and is probably a major reason I haven't managed to break them yet.

I've been collecting art for several years and this piece, called Trailbreaker by the Australian artist Neal Smith, was the beginning of my collection. It's a plywood wall sculpture of a Transformer and has been hung on the walls of various homes and offices over the years. I love how it captures movement, technology, nature, craftsmanship, tradition and sadness all at once. It's a really cool piece.

I've gathered up quite a collection of fine cashmere sweaters over the years. Classic while versatile, durable but light, cashmere sweaters are perfect for traveling or ideal for everyday. Just as good under a fine suit as they are on bare skin after a day's surfing - they suit all situations perfectly. MARC BY MARC JACOBS

Italian design and Swiss-made - it's a particular favourite of mine. I have worn this watch constantly for about eight years, whether it's at the beach, in the office or at black-tie events. It is a great expression of its truly pragmatic original intentions, now modified and simply styled to complement any occasion. I'd only ever wear one with a rubber strap, of course.
