When the second issue of Esquire magazine was published in 1934, the dapper character 'Esky' appeared on the front cover in an illustration by E Simms Campbell, and he still pops up on the spine of each of the American editions to this day. Made around the 1950s, this figure is likely to have appeared in department stores, and is now a highly collectible piece of menswear periodical history.
