Biography

Award-winning German designer and professor at the University of the Arts, Bremen. Mr Spiekermann formed the United Designers Network (UDN) in 2002, subsequently founding Edenspiekermann. “I tend to go for smaller, old-fashioned hotels, like Hessischer Hof. They have better service and less attitude than most of the design hotels. I was recently surprised by the Sofitel in Chicago, which combined old-fashioned European service with a great location and contemporary furniture. The best thing is to look for a hotel with a Swiss manager.”
