Biography

Mr Jefferies has been the owner of the Hamiltons Gallery in Mayfair, London, for almost 30 years. In that time, he has exhibited and represented some of the world's most highly regarded photographers, including Messrs Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton and Robert Mapplethorpe. Working directly with these greats, and more, Mr Jefferies has become recognised for his unique expertise and is widely interviewed on matters pertaining to the photographic medium. Among his varied professional responsibilities, he sits on the selection committees for the Tate Modern's photography collection and for the Paris Photo and Pavilion of Art and Design London art fairs. www.hamiltonsgallery.com
