Editor's Notes

Panerai cherry-picked one of its most iconic dials and patented crown protection bridge for the 'California' watch, and wrapped them in a bespoke leather cuff strap to give its classic 'Luminor' collection a brand new personality. Crafted from titanium coated in DLC, an even carbon-based layer which produces a hardened matte anthracite finish resistant to scratches and corrosion, the 44mm case has a minimal face with simple Arabic numerals, and just hour and minute hands for straightforward timekeeping. The hand-wound P.5000 movement has an impressively long power reserve of eight days.
