Bremont has a background in aviation-grade equipment and its 'ALT1-C Griffon' watch pays homage to the eponymous Spitfire that co-founders Mssrs Nick and Giles English's father operated (which is now, incidentally, owned by Rolls-Royce). The 'Griffon' is historically regarded for its powerful engine, and the timepiece steps up to the plate with a mighty rotor itself, engineered in a modified calibre 13 1/4"" BE-50AE movement. Handsomely robust in proportions, it's been hand-built in Britain from sturdy Trip-Tick® stainless steel, with a scratch-proof case barrel and flat-lying anti-glare crystal lens. The legible dial takes cues from the Spitfire's dashboard and is offset with an antiqued leather strap.
