Editor's Notes

It makes good sense that Tod's founder Mr Diego Della Valle became a shoemaker - his grandfather and father before him were cobblers, so the skill came naturally. His idea for the 'Gommino' driving moccasin came about in the '70s and hasn't changed much since. This penny bar-detailed pair has been crafted in Italy from mushroom suede and set on the style's signature rubber dots - 133 in total. Shown here with Etro sweater, Loro Piana trousers.
