Inua - Men's Style Council Place

At this restaurant, located nine floors up in the Iidabashi district of Tokyo, impressive skyline views form a backdrop to an unusual fusion cuisine. The name Inua is derived from Innuit mythology, and refers to the life force and spirit of nature. The menu of Japanese dishes with a Scandinavian twist is masterminded by German chef Thomas Frebel – formerly head of research and development at Noma in Copenhagen. For him, seasonal takes on a whole new meaning, as ingredients are sourced based on 72 ‘microseasons’ that last around five days, taking full advantage of the fleeting gastronomical riches each month brings.

The food was just incredible. 14 courses, so evenly balanced and immaculately presented - it was one of those experiences you just want other foodie’s to enjoy and share. If anyone is familiar with Noma’s menu then there are definitely familiar courses given a Japanese spin, but Rene Redzepi is a fan and supporter so there is no stepping on anyone’s toes here. Really a must for the Tokyo Gourmand!
