Destination Moon Limited Edition Hand-Wound Palladium-Plated Table Clock, Ref. No. 74.6000/154
Those halcyon days spent with sci-fi comics and torpedo-shaped rocket toys inspire MB&F's 'Destination Moon' table clock. Indeed, unfettered by decorations, its minimal, open-work form deliberately "acts as a framework for the viewer's imagination" to fill in blanks from childhood memory. Built by heritage Swiss watchmakers L'Epée 1839 and movement designer Mr Nicolas Bringuet, its construction follows the basic principles of a real spacecraft, charged at the base with a weighty, oversized hand-wound crown, driving power up to the vertical regulator, which exhibits behind a pane of mineral glass. The movement itself is perforated across the circular plates in homage to Meccano components, while a solid silver figurine by the name of Neil attaches to the boarding ladder magnetically.
