To some eyes one dinner jacket can look much like another. You might know that you're wearing a slim, single-breasted Gucci tuxedo with a 1960s-inspired shawl collar, but the truth is that some people will only register that you're wearing a well-fitting suit. The way to distinguish yourself in the eyes of those less attuned to style's subtleties is by adding a couple of well-chosen accessories.
So once you've got the suit right it's time to nail the details, from Thom Browne's handmade spectacles at the top, down past Lanvin's boutonnieres, Alexander McQueen's pocket squares and Bottega Veneta's silk-lined leather gloves all the way to Dolce & Gabbana's patent leather Derbies. The unifying factor is that while they're all notable, none smack of novelty or gimmick.
