The delicious prospect of the arrival of spring, and the lightweight clothes that accompany it, still feels as about as remote as the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. However, unlike that elusive treasure (which is a pretty unconvincing tale - wouldn't it be a pot of equities, given the stock market's current frothy performance?), it's a sure bet that one distant day the seasons will change and warm weather will return.
And when that change comes, no one shall accuse us of being unprepared, because we'll have been anticipating it for about eight months. The first thing to note about the new season's trends is the simplicity of the colour palette. After half a decade of palatable foppishness, this might be the moment when some of us pull back on the peacock palette in favour of something cleaner and simpler. The second thing is that the lean silhouette remains - although those that prefer their attire a little looser will also find something that suits.
There are styles here for every man, and every occasion - whether it's Acne Studios' luxurious cream-coloured knitwear for the first outdoor lunch of the year, or Maison Kitsuné's varsity jacket at a gig. Roll on spring...
