Uchi – meaning “house” in Japanese – is the fourth opening in Mr Tyson Cole’s ever-expanding restaurant empire, following on from fellow Texan outposts in Austin and Houston. The Dallas branch is sleek and modern, with light-filled interiors of warm-toned wood. Expect chef Mr Cole’s signature dishes: makimono, yakimono and tempura, alongside sushi and sashimi, of course. Food is seasonal (the menu rotates four times a year), sourced from local farms where possible, and there’s an imaginative vegetarian offering. Hungry? Try the chef’s 10-course tasting menu.
