EIP MR PORTER (“MRP”) Private Alterations Powered by Sewn Right Terms and Conditions

Please read our terms and conditions carefully before providing any goods to Sewn Right for alterations.

This Private Alterations service is provided by Sewn Right Limited (“Sewn Right”/”we”/“us”) and available to selected MR PORTER EIPs (“client”/ “you”) as follows:

Fittings & Appointments

  • Appointments are subject to availability, between Monday to Saturday from 10:30 am GMT to 7:00 pm GMT.
  • All fittings are by appointment. It is essential to either keep to the appointed time or inform us of delays or cancellations. We reserve the right to charge for missed appointments if no notice or less than 24 hours’ notice is given for cancellation.
  • Sewn Right will keep a record of all client measurements.
  • Sewn Right will keep a record of certain personal information you have provided to them, including but not limited to email address, phone number and home address. Sewn Right will process this personal information autonomously in the execution of the alteration service. Estimates and Pricing

The Sewn Right x MR PORTER Private Alterations service includes the following for MR PORTER EIP clients:

  • You are entitled to receive complimentary alterations from Sewn Right up to a limit of £300 GBP per month, which MR PORTER will cover the cost of. Any alterations requested above this limit and express delivery shall be your responsibility to pay for.
  • This service is available to MR PORTER EIPs located within the Greater London area and the garments to be altered as part of the complimentary service must have been purchased from MR PORTER in the last 6 months.
  • The available services included in the complimentary alterations are as follows:

Shirts

  • Shirt Length
  • Sleeve Length

Trousers

  • Hem
  • Hem with turn-up
  • Tapering
  • Trouser Waists

Jackets

  • Sleeve length
  • Jacket Length
  • Take in side seams

Any alterations or services not included in this list will be at your own cost.

The Sewn Right x MR PORTER Private Alterations service does not include:

  • Any additional alterations over the £300 GBP per month limit;
  • Any alterations requested that are not included in the available services listed above; and
  • Any alterations made to a garment not purchased on MR PORTER in the last 6 months.

The offer of complimentary alterations is not transferable. Any requests for alterations services which are not included in the complimentary offer will be your responsibility (and not MR PORTER’s) to pay for.

The price list for all other alterations is available directly from Sewn Right (all prices quoted are subject to VAT). Sewn Right will require 100% payment upfront prior to alterations taking place.

Completion

  • Alterations will take up to 3 business days.
  • Sewn Right offer an Express Service (next business day, or same-day) for urgent items where possible. Please ask about Express alterations prior to your appointment and Sewn Right will inform you of any additional cost that may be involved.
  • In the event you are not satisfied with your garment following alterations, Sewn Right will carry out further alterations free of charge (provided such further alterations are still within the bounds of the initial order request and do not amount to a new request for alterations in Sewn Right’s sole discretion). The customer should inform Sewn Right of any issues within 3 days of receiving the item.
  • Sewn Right cannot be responsible for any alterations which a client then selects a third party to carry out, following Sewn Right carrying out alterations work on the same garment.

Delivery

  • The delivery slot for your altered garment will be agreed at your fitting appointment and you should receive a follow up email to confirm this. It is your responsibility to notify Sewn Right if you need to change this delivery time and Sewn Right will not be able to guarantee any alternative delivery slot which you might request.
  • Sewn Right will deliver all items within 3 business days (Monday – Saturday) of your fitting appointment. Should the client require Express delivery this will incur and extra charge of £75 for next business day and £175 for same day service (payable by the client).

Liability & Responsibility for Goods

  • Sewn Right is only responsible for the alterations work discussed and agreed at the relevant appointment. If, following the appointment, you request changes to the scope of work for a particular garment, you may be required to cover any additional costs if such request falls outside of the complimentary service under these terms.
  • You are responsible, at all times, for providing Sewn Right and its representatives with accurate and complete information. Sewn Right shall not be liable for any errors or omissions made by you in your alterations request, or for a change of mind.
  • Any alterations that are insisted upon by the client against Sewn Right’s advice, shall be your responsibility if you choose to proceed.
  • It is your responsibility to check that no personal items are left in the garments to be altered, e.g. in the pockets, and neither Sewn Right nor MR PORTER shall have any liability in respect of the same.
  • The alterations services are provided solely by Sewn Right and MR PORTER shall not be liable for the same.
  • Sewn Right quality check every garment before any work is undertaken. Any marks will be noted down in the presence of the client and Sewn Right will not be held responsible for any existing marks or imperfections on the garment.
  • Sewn Right cannot accept liability for any damage to garments caused by any third party following alterations by Sewn Right other than as a result of Sewn Right’s failure to properly perform the alterations services.
  • Sewn Right will accept responsibility for failing to carry out alterations service properly or in accordance with the terms outlined and any loss suffered as a result which is foreseeable.
  • Sewn Right cannot accept liability for loss not caused by a breach of these terms, negligence, indirect loss which are the side effect of main loss or damage and which are not reasonably foreseeable by Sewn Right.
  • Nothing in these terms seeks to limit or exclude the client’s statutory consumer rights. Sewn Right accept liability for death and personal injury arising from our negligence or that of our employees or agents. Further, we do not seek to exclude liability for fraudulent misrepresentation by us or our employees or agents.
