So, what’s included in MR PORTER’s Black Friday Sale? With a 30 per cent discount available on more than 300 designers and literally thousands of individual products, it might be faster to tell you what’s not in it.
That’s great news for bargain hunters, but where on Earth do you start? Perhaps you filled up your Wish List ahead of time, you clever thing, in which case it’s simply a matter of navigating your way there and checking for discounts. But if you weren’t so prudent, a little guidance may be in order.
To that end, the MR PORTER team has picked out a few highlights from that rather intimidating list. Read on for our suggestions – and we can’t promise they’ll be around forever, so be quick!

It might seem counterintuitive, but if you can afford it then the surest path to sale-shopping success is to spend more, not less. Not only will the discount be bigger – no surprises there, 30 per cent of a larger number is (gasp) a larger number – but what you’re buying is likely to be of a better quality, ergo it should last longer. This virgin-wool coat from Mr P. is a case in point: a genuine investment piece you’ll still be wearing years from now, it’s a sensible purchase at full price, which makes it a no-brainer this Black Friday.

If I’m going to really lean into my midlife crisis and shell out on a leather jacket, it might as well be one that’ll still be good once it all blows over. I’ve told myself that I’m going to be sensible when it comes to shopping for the holidays; in fact, I’m foregoing a gift to myself this year. But I’ve been admiring this oversized sweater by JW Anderson for a while now: the patchwork knit and vibrant colour palette will add a bright spot to my winter wardrobe. Now with 30 per cent off for Black Friday, it’s looking very sensible to me. Plus, technically, it’s not a Christmas present if I get it in November.

While there’s nothing wrong with that I’ll be taking a different approach by skipping winter and going straight to summer – sartorially speaking, at least – with these linen trousers from Hartford. Why work from home when you can work from holiday?
