Five Luxurious Knits To Welcome In February

Words by Lucy Kingett

2 February 2023

Sometimes all you need to feel good is one really fabulous item of clothing. It could be a well-made pair of dress shoes that top off your formalwear look or the perfect sunglasses for that first city break of the year. Or, if you’re feeling really February-ish, like we are, then a super luxurious tactile knit. We’ve picked out five of our favourite woollen creations that won’t fail to put a swagger in your step.

01.

The Elder Statesman’s graphic collaboration sweater

The Elder Statesman is well known for taking luxury knitwear to bold new places. This collaboration with Swedish artist Mr Jonathan Josefsson, otherwise known as Ollio, is no different. Combining inspiration from his graphic, graffiti-inspired aesthetic and the tufted rugs he is also known for, the velvety soft bouclé Geode sweater packs a visual punch while remaining remarkably wearable.

02.

The casual CELINE HOMME knitted hoodie

Love a hoodie, but a bit bored of your regular jersey rotation? This CELINE HOMME chunky ribbed wool number is a subtle alternative that will add a little luxe edge to your casual Sunday outfit. Style it with a simple pair of jeans or sweats and some classic sneakers, and let the appliquéd logo and oversized fit keep things on the right side of effortless Parisian cool.

03.

The statement Alanui Tweety cardigan

Alanuiwas founded by Milanese siblings Ms Carlotta and Mr Nicolò Oddi to celebrate their love of vintage knitwear. The brand’s instantly recognisable Icon cardigan has seen multiple colourways and iterations, but this Western-inspired Looney Tunes example – complete with cowboy Tweety, horn buttons and the knit’s signature fringing – might be our favourite yet. The impeccable quality and warmth of the double jacquard material is just a convenient by-product as far as we’re concerned. Yee-haw!

04.

The traditional Brunello Cucinelli cashmere rollneck

Maybe a giant knitted canary emblazoned across your back is a little bold, and you’d prefer a more traditional knit. This ecru rollneck sweater from Brunello Cucinelli is knitted from 100 per cent cashmere, so it’s great at keeping out the chill, and it features a wintery intarsia-knit snowflake pattern in contrasting navy blue, making it an ideal choice for any last-minute ski breaks you might have booked.

05.

The classic logo Gucci cardigan

Channel a bit of 1990s Uncle Phil style with this weighty retro-look cardigan from Gucci. Jacquard woven with an all-over GG and cable pattern, the addition of studs along the collar and placket add a modern touch. Opt for wide-leg chinos and an open-collar shirt for the full preppy look.
