All-New Essentials: The Latest Drop From Fear Of God Is Here

A new season presents us with the opportunity – or, rather, the excuse – to refresh our wardrobe in time for the months ahead. September is, undisputedly, the month to browse and indulge in the new collections guilt-free. Who doesn’t need new sweats, knits or outerwear, after all?

The first (and wisest) thing you can do is get the basics right. So, as a new drop of Fear of God Essentials lands on MR PORTER, we’ve hand-picked a few highlights that will form the rock-solid foundations of your new-season wardrobe.

The contrast polo

If bold logos aren’t your thing, try Fear of God Essentials’ polo shirt, which is detailed with designer Mr Jerry Lorenzo’s birth year instead. The contrasting ecru collar sets it apart, too.

The lightweight blouson

Aptly titled “coach”, this blouson jacket resembles the kind of vintage styles you’d spot on a college basketball court. The snap buttons and drawstring at the waist make it easy to layer and adjust to your liking.

The utilitarian bowling shirt

Hardwearing utilitarian fabrics have been all the rage in recent seasons, so it’s only right that Fear of God Essentials has its fair share of them in its latest drop. Case in point, this nylon bowling shirt – wear yours solo or layer it over a tank top.

The standout long-sleeved T-shirt

Bright orange may not be the first colour that comes to mind when you think of essentials, but if colourful clothes can really boost your mood, then there’s no reason why this coral-hued T-shirt shouldn’t be on your Wish List, especially as summer fades away. Call it a dopamine pick-me-up.

The relaxed sweats

When talking about basics, sweatpants are never far from the conversation. This cream pair will work well with pretty much everything and the signature extra-long drawstring is a subtle nod to the Jerry Lorenzo stans.

The classic blue jeans

No item of clothing is deserving of the term “essential” quite like classic blue jeans. This pair comes already faded and whiskered throughout, so it’ll look like you’ve owned it for years.

The drawstring shorts

If there’s a design element that’s as recognisable a brand signature as any logo out there, then Fear of God Essentials’ unusually long drawstring is surely it. Try wearing these “egg shell” shorts with a matching tee or hoodie.

The short shorts

Should sporty shorts be seen anywhere other than in the gym? If your answer is yes – and Lorenzo’s certainly is, too – then this coral pair will position you among the best-dressed men in the weights room and beyond.
