Staff Picks: Five Things Our US Editor Wants This Week

Ah, spring, when the allergies run riot and New York blows gales at you if you should ever so happen to limit your layers. And yet, the potential! I’m going a bit defiant in my shopping bag this week, pushing the season where I hope it will go, buying the wardrobe I want to see in the world. Here are five things that particularly caught my eye on MR PORTER this week.

The Shirt

If this print isn’t my vibe spring, I don’t know what is. And Blue Blue Japan is kind of right where I want to live with the indigo-dyed camp-collar shirt and lovely mother-of-pearl buttons.

The Trousers

Fear of God has totally snapped on these sort of duck-like cotton-canvas panelled drawstring trousers. Maybe the best pair I’ve seen this year.

The Jacket

Staples are staples are staples, unless you get them from an incredible brand such as Kapital, which has made a trucker jacket I want to rough up and wear for all of time.

The Shirt Jacket

I guess I’m bringing the safari to me this season. Bless Rubinacci and its glorious linens — this sort of deep forest-green shade is next level. Imagine it with a white undershirt: strong Mr Peter Beard vibes.

The T-shirt

Beach-body season approaches. All praise to Mr Matthew Williams’ Nike collab for making it so easy to get ready in style.

The Pyjamas

I’m firmly committed to spending more time in bed this year. And if you are going to lounge, why not lounge luxuriously. In lilac, no less.
