Staff Picks: What’s On Our Wish List

Words by Mr Michael Krueger

Our Global Head of PR is in town from New York for our MR PORTER Health In Mind event. So, we thought it was a perfect opportunity to pick his brains on the current clothes and trends he’s got his eye on. With the weather turning, and Christmas just around the corner (in the retail world, anyway), see what’s on his Wish List, below.

Nothing says 1990s layering more than this electric yellow, grey and black checked flannel overshirt by Stüssy. It’s a fresh take on a nostalgic look, and a functional piece as the weather gets cooler. I’ll wear it with a black Velva Sheen T-shirt and black A.P.C. jeans.

These oversized frames from Oliver Peoples are as big as LA billboards, and have a chic, black boldness that belongs poolside at the Sunset Tower or hiking in the hills of Malibu. May these act as my talisman to both.

I already own the red and navy version of this Johnny collar knit polo shirt from our own label Mr P. If there’s something that fits my body and I can easily adapt it into my wardrobe, I adopt it in every colour.

This chore jacket is great example of how to wear corduroy in a non-staid way. The colour and the cut are easy to layer on; the weight and corduroy fabric make this special and notable.

I recently started letting my facial hair grow – let’s call it a pursuit of manicured scruff. And although it’s a natural look, it’s almost more effort to manage the clean areas of my neck and face. That said, get the right tools to enhance your routines, and I’ve found just the thing with this three-piece shaving set from Bolin Webb.
