Spotted at LOEWE’s show in Paris last month, the 37-year-old English actor paired the branded top with a statement leather overshirt and black trousers, proving that the humble vest can be dressed up, too.

If you’re a menswear obsessive, all you really need to know is that he hails from the extended Odd Future-verse and thus keeps such stylish company as Mr Steve Lacy and perennial MR PORTER favourite Tyler, the Creator. Much like his mates, his sartorial palette has expanded since the collective’s troublemaking days (a little less LA skatewear, a little more luxe tailoring), as this exquisite silk-tank-and-leather-trouser combo by SAINT LAURENT worn to the fashion’s house’s AW23 presentation proves. Delightfully understated and sure to look just as tasteful decades from now, it’s a reminder that oftentimes sumptuous fabrics and exquisite fit are enough to make a statement on their own.

He may no longer the inhabit the raffish Roman Roy, but it appears Mr Kieran Culkin isn’t quite ready to abandon the costume. Not so much the slick suits and copious hair gel, though – rather the casual, quiet-luxury look that his fictional family famously do so well. At MR PORTER’s summer party in the Hamptons (we’re in key quiet-luxury country, here), he wore an outfit that, to the untrained eye, might appear rather unassuming. But as true connoisseurs will tell you, its hushed tones, classic silhouette and Zegna label could not make it more apposite for the East Egg setting.
