Eat like the world’s most stylish men at one of these buzzy eateries.
Whenever an important new restaurant or food trend emerges somewhere in the world, we like to report on it. Nothing inspires us more than knowing that you, our dear readers, are up to speed on the most pressing epicurean matters. That, and the free dinner that sometimes comes with the territory, of course. But given the pace at which things move in the food industry, we cannot profess to know everything. It is therefore useful to have some trusted associates who can toss us some insider tips every now and then – just in case we missed anything. So, this week, we turn to our Style Council to give us their current favourite restaurants. From New York to Mexico – here’s where four of our well-connected friends are dining right now.

Ferdi

Recommended by not one, but three of our Style Council members (recently, designer Mr Alexander Lewis proclaimed it as “THE spot during LFW”), Ferdi first opened in Paris, but the Shepherd Market, Mayfair outpost which opened its doors in January is now a firm favourite for anyone in search of simple comfort food in rather sophisticated surrounds. If you go, make sure you try the cheeseburger, which has become the restaurant’s calling card.

L’Arabesque
Milan, Italy

Recently recommended by notable designer Mr Andrew Wren, it comes as little surprise to learn that Milan’s L’Arabesque is an extremely handsome place to eat – and special mention goes to its retro black-and-brown décor. Come for the mushroom risotto, stay for the vintage furniture store. And when you do leave, you can head to Il Duomo – which is just a stone’s throw away.

Maisie Café
Paris, France

Over to Paris now, where W Magazine editor Mr Gianluca Longo has recommended Maisie, a fresh, new café found in the premier arrondissement. We say café – you’re unlikely to find a glass of Bordeaux and a chateaubriand here – it’s more of a juice bar, a place to cleanse and refresh with freshly pressed juices, dairy-free avocado, banana and nut shakes, and a nutritious menu of organic food that changes with the seasons. It might not be to everyone’s tastes, but it provides a welcome break from all the rich, decadent eating Paris obliges you to indulge in.

Acre
Baja California Sur, Mexico

You might not find yourself on Baja California Sur, Mexico anytime soon, but if you do, creative director Mr Nick Vinson very strongly suggests you book a table at Acre, a recently opened bar and restaurant, owned by two friends from Canada. The cocktails are made with small-batch Mexican liquors, and the majority of the ingredients that make up the delicious seasonal fare are homegrown on the 25-acre farm.
