Just In: Autumn Brights From Mr P.

Vibrant knitwear and sturdy shoes – perfect for kicking fallen leaves.

Autumn, as well as falling leaves and seasonal affective disorder, also provides us with a whole new season of clothing in which to partake. And for those who appreciate the tactile charm of a Shetland wool sweater or the gravitas of a double-breasted overcoat, chillier weather is a blessing.

Speaking of which, the new Mr P. collection lands on MR PORTER today, and it’s full of trusty clothes that we think epitomise the pleasures of dressing for autumn. What’s more, there’s a spectrum of colours to choose from – so whether cosy sweaters in mustard yellow or rusty-orange socks made in Japan, there are plenty of ways to add a little sunshine to your wardrobe when there’s none in the sky. (Although on a purely practical level, we recommend tempering such variegated optimism with something a little more sober, such as with this fine pair of grey corduroy trousers.)

Also: shoes. It’s the first time Mr P. has made them, and from sturdy Derbies to preppy white sneakers, there’s a wealth of footwear that will slot nicely into any sartorial repertoire should you need an update. See: what did we tell you? Autumn days aren’t so bad after all.
