It’s what you’ve all been waiting for: we have designed an app with tvOS to bring our video content onto your TV screens.
Are you terribly tired of Netflix, Hulu, Now TV and their ilk? Have you torn through both seasons of Mr Robot, bored everyone to death about Breaking Bad, had a Game Of Thrones viewing party and even attempted to watch things like Once Upon A Time and Killer Clowns From Outer Space, because you just can’t stop watching, even though, really, there’s nothing left to watch? OK, take a deep breath, and let it out in a huge sigh of relief: we can now proudly announce that MR PORTER is descending upon Apple TV to save you from such entertainment crises. MR PORTER for Apple TV, a new application specifically designed for tvOS, collects some of our very best video content and beams it straight to you in your living room.
Upon downloading the app (which you can do so by heading straight to iTunes now – it's included with every download of our mobile app), you will be presented with the opportunity to watch films including “24 Hours With… Public School”, our exclusive behind-the-scenes portrait of Messrs Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne’s much-buzzed New York brand (see below), and “Meet The Makers: Blackmeans”, a mini documentary about Tokyo’s most anarchic artisanal leather-jacket maker. What’s more, thanks to the app’s Multipeer connectivity, it syncs neatly with our existing mobile shopping app, allowing you to use your phone to shop each video as you watch it. All in all, it’s a really quite effortless way to get more stylish from the comfort of your sofa. Now, however wonderful it is, can you say that of Orange Is The New Black? We didn’t think so.
