Come along to a special style suite with MR PORTER and Style Council member Mr Hayden Cox at Halcyon House in New South Wales, Australia.

If you were looking for excuses to book a weekend away at Halcyon House, you wouldn’t have to try too hard. The boutique hotel, described on the MR PORTER Style Council as “New South Wales meets the Hamptons”, not only boasts multiple accolades (including Mr and Mrs Smith’s Best Smith Hotel award for 2016) and a Noma-trained chef in its restaurant, Paper Daisy, it’s also situated on one of Australia’s most beautiful stretches of coastline – Cabarita Beach.

This May, there are a few more perks to add to this list, as MR PORTER heads to Halcyon House to take part in a weekend packed full of stylish entertainments, great food and, most importantly, great company. It all kicks off on Friday 19 May, as Style Council member and Halcyon House artist-in-residence Mr George Byrne celebrates the launch of his latest exhibition Colour Field with a poolside party. The artist and photographer is known for his dazzling images of his hometown of LA, but during his residency at Halcyon House he has turned his lens upon the urban landscape of New South Wales, with the resulting images making their debut at the exhibition.

The day after (20 May), MR PORTER’s Head of Client Services Mr Joe Ottaway and Mr George Sotelo, creative director of New York swimwear brand Thorsun, will be hosting a style suite at the hotel, which will be followed by a four-course lunch (with matched wines) hosted by MR PORTER and Mr Byrne. Then, on the morning of Sunday 21 May, Style Council member Mr Hayden Cox will lead a surfing lesson on the beach, for all those who fancy making the most of Halcyon House’s excellent seafront location.
