BREITLING Aviator 8 B01 Curtiss Warhawk Automatic Chronograph 43mm Stainless Steel and Canvas Watch, Ref. No. AB01192A1L1X2
Work began on the famed P-40 Curtiss Warhawk fighter plane in 1938, the year Breitling's Huit Aviation Department began installing its onboard instruments for the likes of the RAF. The 'Aviator 8 B01' pays tribute to the groundbreaking innovation and revisits the technicalities of the 'Reference 768', one of the brand's first pilot watches, with a rotating bezel and distinctive triangular pointer. This 43mm model is crafted from stainless steel and has an army-green dial containing SuperLumiNova®-coated silver hands and markers, while the rightmost 30-minute chronograph is tipped in bright-red to provide some contrast. The in-house 01 automatic movement is on full display through the exhibition caseback.
