Introducing the star or Him & Her and A View From The Bridge, and a few of his favourite things.
One of Britain’s finest comic actors, Billericay-born Mr Russell Tovey made his breakthrough alongside Messrs James Corden and Dominic Cooper in the hugely successful 2004 production of Mr Alan Bennett’s The History Boys at the National Theatre in London. Following this with a series of winning, charmingly jittery performances in cult British TV series from Being Human (in which he played a werewolf) to Him & Her (a must-watch anti-rom-com, if you haven’t seen it), he’s spent the last few years also building an admirable presence across the pond, too, with starring roles in HBO’s Looking and the latest season of ABC’s Quantico.
While 2016 saw him win one of his first film leads, in Mr John Donnelly’s drama about homophobia in Football The Pass, Mr Tovey has also clearly kept up his theatre credentials, appearing in the Tony-Award winning revival of Mr Arthur Miller’s A View From The Bridge, which transferred to the Lyceum Theatre in New York in after sold-out runs in London’s West End. And he’s set to continue his run of theatrical Blockbusters this April, as part of the all-star cast (including Mr Andrew Garfield) of the new National Theatre production of Mr Tony Kushner’s epic Angels In America. (Booking is open now and likely to sell out quickly, but Delta is releasing hundreds of extra tickets each week via a ballot – head to the National Theatre website for more details).
