Dressing well for golf should be easy. Spending a few hours on the fairways does not demand as strict a uniform as most sports, and yet the golf course remains one of the sporting world’s most tough to traverse sartorial minefields.

Which is why, if you don’t already, you should probably know about Bogner. Founded back in the 1930s by Mr Willy Bogner Sr and his wife Ms Maria Bogner (and today run by their son Mr Willy Bogner Jr), the family have built a remarkable reputation for their eponymous sports and skiwear brand. It’s not easy to maintain a business, let alone a good reputation, for nearly a century, but that’s because whether it’s on the snowy slopes or the verdant acres of your local golf course, Bogner doesn’t compromise on comfort, style, or technical prowess.

And for golf, Bogner is a welcome beacon in an arena that often leaves much to be desired, aesthetically speaking. Clothing that allows you to swing freely, while still managing to look cool and collected is the order of the day here – from the sharp yet subdued golfing shirts to the functional, snappy trousers and jackets that are made with UV protection technology for long days spent swinging under the sun, there’s a wealth of cleverly made golf clothing here that should be front and centre of every player’s wardrobe, professional or otherwise. To give your golf garb an update, try switching up your polo shirt for a regular tee or long-sleeved zip-up once in a while. Bogner’s “Pedro” T-shirt has a mock neck, which looks incredibly modern (and has an elasticated neckline so that it will remain looking sharp and won’t stretch out), while the “Florin” long-sleeved zip-up is a clever choice for colder days on the course, as a base layer or alone. Bogner’s bread and butter is in making sporting appropriate clothing that looks just as good as it feels to wear.
