Introducing Your New Stone Island Uniform: The SS24 Ghost Collection

The concept of uniform runs deep at Stone Island. Whether it’s the down jackets of the paninari movement that helped shape the brand’s aesthetic, the subculture uniform of football terraces and nightclubs that encouraged its cult streetwear following or, of course, the military styles and textiles that galvanised the brand’s inception. It follows, then, that the Ghost collections would be a sought-after staple for Stone Island fans. Each limited drop of monochromatic, garment-dyed pieces offers a minimalist interpretation of camouflage that’s described by the brand as “elevated stealth”, stripping back garment design to its essentials in order to focus on form and material. 01. The multipurpose jacket
Stone Island made its name with outerwear for good reason. This field jacket is crafted from organic, natural O-Ventile cotton canvas, a tightly woven military fabric that is waterproof, windproof and breathable without the need for additional treatments or coating. Design notes include a kimono-cut shoulder and sleeve that exaggerate the back, a concealed hood and detachable PrimaLoft Silver down liner. As with all Ghost pieces, it features a special mono-colour version of the brand’s iconic badge.
02. The cotton overshirt
The mil-spec O-Ventile cotton is put to good use again here, this time in a sturdy overshirt that leans slightly more toward jacket territory thanks to its substantial textile weight. The fabric’s unique qualities and tactile properties, as well as the shirt’s handy zipped pockets and two-way front zip, make this a practical and versatile addition to your trans-seasonal arsenal. 03. The matte satin overshirt
For a more lightweight overshirt option, this style is cut from matte cupro satin. The free-flowing fibre is a byproduct of the cotton industry, derived from the short filaments near the seed, and its textural finish is particularly enhanced by the garment-dyeing process, creating an intense depth of hue. The concealed placket and simple chest pocket continue the minimalist uniform concept.
04. The cashmere-blend sweater
This strikingly simple single-shade, tightly woven cotton-cashmere sweater is taken up a notch thanks to exaggerated inner seams, narrow curling cuffs and subtle stitch detail around the neck. Its fine handle lends itself to being worn without a base layer – which means a treat for your skin. The tonally matching wind rose shoulder badge here evokes classic naval styles.
05. The wide-leg cargo trousers
Complete the monochrome uniform look with a pair of durable cargo trousers – totally weatherproof thanks to the O-Ventile cotton canvas’s natural fibre-swelling characteristics.
