THE JOURNAL

Now that summer is officially over, I can shrink wrap my short shorts and seal my Birkenstocks in a dust bag because it’s time to embrace the winter blues. As we transition into autumn and look towards winter, here are five things on my Wish List.
The coat
Don’t be that guy picking up the outerwear scraps after the temperature has already started to plummet. Buy your winter coat now (while there are still sizes available) and keep it under wraps in your wardrobe. This unstructured, alpaca belted coat won’t stay around for long.
The shoes
Loafers are not just a warm-weather shoe option. Add a chunky commando sole and these are good to go any time of year, especially in autumn.
The sweater
The shirt
Cord that looks like chambray – what’s not to love? Debuting its wares on MR PORTER this season, J.Press takes iconic Americana styles and modernises them in incredible fabrics.
The sunglasses
The sun may be making fewer appearances these days, but a great pair of sunglasses is essential all year round, especially for holidays. These ones are inspired by the cinema of the 1960s, a vintage decade for menswear and one that never goes out of style.
