THE JOURNAL

Stay warm and dry with practical outerwear from Canada Goose, Sacai and more.
Ah, the humble hooded coat. Not just there to keep you warm and dry, a hood also protects your carefully coiffed hair as well as enabling a degree of stealth – perfect for ducking out of the office Christmas party early, for example. But the greatest advantage of the hood lies in its tenacity and versatility. After all, a hood attached to your coat is unlikely to be left behind. And it decreases the need for a cumbersome umbrella. So, because there’s no better time than the present, we’ve collated a few of our favourite hooded jackets that have just landed on site.

CANADA GOOSE
It’s also always worth considering Canada Goose for serious winter kit and the MacMillan jacket means business. It’s made from Arctic Tech shell, designed for the most extreme conditions, and padded throughout with down. Camouflage in town is more attention-grabbing than in its intended jungle surrounds, but here the snorkel hood extends to offer even more protection.
NORSE PROJECTS
If you’re looking to spring, new in is this anorak from Copenhagen’s finest, Norse Projects. Now, the Danes know a thing or two about both dressing for the seasons and cycling (whatever the weather). This is the kind of item you need on rainy but mild days: it’s made from nylon with a water-repellent finish and the hood can be tightened up with its stripy drawstring.
