There are all manner of ways in which we might attempt to better ourselves in the new year, from pledging to learn a new language to signing up for a triathlon or adopting the latest extreme diet. But self-improvement doesn’t have to involve self-punishment. It doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming, either. Really, it’s down to having the right attitude, being proactive and having the courage and commitment to take opportunities when they come along.
We may all harbour a secret desire to radically alter our lives. To quit our jobs. Travel the world. Start that restaurant. Write that book. But even the smallest of changes can lead to big differences.
