Mr Jeremy O Harris is a recurring presence on our best-dressed list, and for good reason. If there’s anyone we’d take advice on how we’d wear a suit – rather than let a suit wear us – it would certainly be the American playwright and actor. Particularly if the suit in question is a Dior cream tweed number in the dog days of summer. In London for Slave Play, the Broadway hit now on show at Noël Coward Theatre, Harris toned it down with a white tee and a pair of tweed loafers, woven with light-catching metallic threads.

You know who is in the eye of their own brat storm? Mr Glen Powell, that’s who. Only, in London for the European premiere of blockbuster sequel Twisters, the actor of the moment seems to have swerved the influence of Charli XCX in favour of… Mr Patrick McGoohan from cult surreal 1960s British TV series The Prisoner? The slim-cut black suit with contrast white piping is a strong look. But more so, what’s notable is that – despite here to promote a film about violent freak weather phenomena – the guy has not a hair out of place. Or at least not carefully tussled that way.

The sneaker of the summer just got an extra boost of heat that it probably didn’t need thanks to Mr Jeremy Allen White. (Let’s go with White heat.) Plucked out of the Nike archives by Ms Emily Adams Bode Aujla of BODE fame, the mid-1970s Astro Grabber was Mr Bill Bowerman’s early stab at an American football shoe – from his waffle-iron runner to gridiron. Proof that there’s more to The Bear star than cult footwear, White wears his with a tonal shirt and vest combo and straight-cut, stonewash jeans with the hem removed.

Summertime and the living is easy. Particularly in the Hamptons, where NET‑A‑PORTER and MR PORTER hosted a summer shindig to celebrate the warmer season and get together with our US-based friends and family. One of our highlights? The Loro Piana striped linen shirt and pleated shorts combination – effortlessly colour-coordinated, naturally – worn by Nike trainer, The Ocho System founder and GQ columnist Mr Joe Holder. The all-round wellbeing expert has dressed the fit down with an easy pair of retro basketball-inspired sneakers, which perfectly match the sandy palette.

A white T-shirt can be many things. It can be your WFH attire, an everyday go-to or even a base layer for a relaxed suit. For Mr Simon Porte Jacquemus, it’s a refined way to dress down a pair of pleated, billowing and otherwise formal trousers. The French designer is certainly no stranger to colour pairing, pulling together the fit with a pair of boat shoes and a macaroon yellow belt – touché.

All eyes on Mr Lebron James this summer. The American baller has a big few weeks ahead of him – he’s part of Team USA’s quest for a fifth straight Olympic gold medal in Paris – and while that may seem like a pretty tough task, USA’s number six makes everything look easy on the sartorial department. He’s stepped out in style for the opening ceremony in a total-teal look, which was given a point of interest via a classic checkered Louis Vuitton denim jacket, reimagined with a warped pattern (the house’s Distorted Damier check) from Mr Virgil Abloh’s era.

Professional BMX athlete Mr Nigel Sylvester doesn’t just have the job we wished we had, if we still had the knees for it; he also has the wardrobe. Seen here at MR PORTER’s recent summer powwow in the Hamptons, the New Yorker wears a cotton-lace camp-collar shirt and straight-legged trousers, also with a lace motif – both by BODE. While black is not typically a tone for summer, the breezy heritage-inspired material says otherwise.

Never mind saving the MCU, not to mention Wrexham AFC, Mr Ryan Reynolds deserves a nod for services to shirts. Here he’s sidestepped his go-to brand BODE for what we think is a Todd Snyder piece with hip pockets. Irrespective of its maker, the synchronicity with the branding for Reynolds’ new movie, Deadpool & Wolverine, feels like a deliberate move. The Deadpool red being the dominant force even more so. Teamed with slightly cropped trousers and brown suede boots, the actor seems in his element on the press circuit.
