Where to put your money come the festive season.

In an age of contactless payments, PayPal and Bitcoin, it can be easy to assume that the humble wallet’s days are numbered. But, as is evidenced by the fortunes of magazines, film photography and vinyl, people still seem to like actual physical stuff – even when they know they could do without it. Which is nice, because it gives us a little more time to remind ourselves that we’re human – just about – before the cloud fully takes over and we cease to exist. With that cheery thought in mind, we look ahead to Christmas and the gifts we might like to receive or give this year. Wallets are always a safe bet, so here are five of our favourites.
