Stylish and comfortable sleepwear for the modern gentleman.

The  outside is, indeed, frightful. So, it’s probably time to bed down. In fact, one of the best ways to enjoy this segment of the year is to  through most of it, and to do so in the utmost style and comfort, you’re going to need a proper pair of . Scroll down to peruse the latest offerings from some of MR PORTER’s favourite  in this department. Then close your eyes, count sheep, and hope for the best.

01. Desmond & Dempsey

You might be forgiven for thinking that this -based  is one of those hundred-year-old businesses you find on  – there’s something terribly gentlemanly about the alliterative name. Actually though, this is a thoroughly modern concern – launched in 2014 by couple Mr Joe Jeffreys and Ms Molly Goddard, and named after their grandparents – that offers thoroughly modern pyjamas. Look here for a flattering, contemporary cut of , slightly longer and less boxy than traditional styles, in a variety of wry prints (including sprouting mushrooms) and interesting fabrics. 02. Cleverly Laundry

Loungewear brand  has a delightfully fuss-free approach to crafting what it refers to as “man-proof essentials for bed, bath and ”. Its minimally detailed pyjamas are cut for a relaxed, easy fit, and rendered in washed cotton for supreme comfort. Match this blue pair with one of the brand’s equally appealing terry cotton , which come with a large shawl collar for an extra cosy feeling.

03. Sleepy Jones

The wares of this quirky sleepwear (and “not-quite-ready-to-wear”) brand are inspired by the lives of great  including Mr Pablo  and Mr George Plimpton who, so goes the thinking, were at their most creative when they were at their most comfortable. We particularly like this checked variation for its soft, supremely touchable cotton flannel fabric – enough to inspire anyone to produce a masterpiece, if they can keep from nodding off, that is. If you were looking for a reason to invest in a supremely comforting  Sherpa , it’s worth noting that the colour scheme will complement these pyjamas rather nicely. But do you really need a reason?
