When it comes to injecting some bright shades into your look, aim for the rainbow.

What are some easy ways to integrate colours into your outfit?

Do you remember when, in college, you used to sit around wondering if the colour that I see and call red is the same colour you see and, like, call red, man? Just me? The point is: colour is very subjective. Wearing it, even more so. Every one of us has all kinds of feelings about which hues go well with our skin tone, our hair colour, etc (one of my best friends, a pale-skinned redhead from California, jokes that he used to dress like a Skittle, and he is generally considered one of the most stylish dudes wherever he goes, so...).
So, take what I’m about to say with a grain of salt: when playing with colour, start big. Whole-body big. Big coats, suits, head-to-toe monochrome looks. I actually think this is the easiest way into real colour play – but maybe don’t start with hazard orange or cherry red. What about dusty pinks, earthy mustards or muted blues? Designers these days are getting very good with dyes – whether on a fabric or even whole-garment level – and you can find some nice, washed-out colours on tailored clothes (I cannot recommend a pale-green suit strongly enough) that will play very well with the white shirts and brown shoes you already own.
Alternatively, go full bamboo with the floral, psychedelic, bold prints your favourite designers are using for summer shirting. I have a full Crayola box of Hawaiian shirts in my closet – from Dries Van Noten, Stüssy, Onia, Rhude, Polo Ralph Lauren and Our Legacy – and every single one of them will go with a pair of faded-blue jeans or khaki chinos and Vans. Look, the sun is coming out and your eyes, as well as the eyes of those around you, are hungry. Let ’em taste the rainbow.
