Starting as a pattern cutter for Comme des Garçons and later becoming Rei Kawakubo’s unofficial protégé, Junya Watanabe launched his avant-garde menswear line in 2002. To this day, his collections continue to be celebrated for their use of innovative techniques in fabric manipulation, perfected over the course of decades.
