We always greet the arrival of the spring/summer collections like eager children. After a winter hibernating in our sweats, we can finally get our hands on some new-season fashion. Stone Island’s latest arrivals are perfect for a colourful spring wardrobe refresh. As well as its signature high-performance jackets and outerwear, sweatshirts and trousers complete the super-sharp colour-block collection.

The garment-dyed cargo trousers
OK, maybe we’re not quite ready to give up on sweatpants just yet. These tapered cargo trousers combine comfort (stretch cotton and an elasticated drawstring waist) with ice-blue monotone minimalism to create the perfect pair of transitional trousers.

The pastel sweatshirt
A key theme of the new Stone Island collection is garment dyeing, a process whereby the whole garment is dyed as one piece, rather than the fabric being dyed before construction. This technique lends pieces a more textured and worn-in appeal, with some variation in tone between collar and cuff. The soft pink of this sweatshirt has us hooked.

The lightweight hooded rain jacket
Technical fabric development is key to Stone Island’s brand heritage and success. This jacket – in a colour that sits somewhere between cool turquoise and minty aquamarine – is crafted from its lightweight Crinkled Reps Nylon, which has a resin coating to deflect upcoming April showers.

The super-juicy overshirt
Another perfect piece to make the slide into spring easier, this workwear-inspired overshirt in structured cotton twill will take the edge off cool evenings, but is lightweight enough that it can be layered under a heavy coat while it’s still frosty. There’s no avoiding that statement orange, either. We say, go for it.

The quilted shell down gilet
Layering will continue to be a crucial over the next few months, so a down gilet such as this one will come in handy, especially when it can be folded down into its own pocket, which makes for easy packing for weekend or outdoors trips. Throw it over a hoodie or sweatshirt for a smart off-duty look.
