THE JOURNAL

What you’ll find inside the bathroom cabinets of some of the world’s most stylish men.
The Style Council: how do they do it? Spoiler alert: it’s not all entirely natural. In fact, when we quizzed our illustrious membership about their daily grooming habits, it transpired that they rely not inconsiderably (as do all of us) on various creams, sprays, scents and other things in bottles to keep themselves squeaky clean and thoroughly fragrant throughout the working day. Scroll down to discover their favourite products and then be sure to visit their individual profiles on The Style Council to discover their recommendations for the best places to eat, drink and sleep across the globe.

Grooming essentials:
Tom Ford Noir – I’ve been using it since he first started doing it, and it’s always been commented on. Now that he makes other Noir products I also use those, it seems best to keep it consistent. Not only is the product excellent but the packaging is beautiful.
Mr Simon Thompson
Brand and client services director, Fortnum & Mason

Grooming essentials:
Malin + Goetz. A great range of grooming products, and I recently discovered their fragrances, too. The travel pack of six basics is an essential for me.
Mr Chris Glass
European membership director, Soho House Group

Grooming essentials:
I’ve been wearing Diptyque’s Philosykos EDT for years. It’s become not just my signature personal scent, but a fragrance I use in my home as well. When I catch a whiff of it, it almost always draws a smile simply because of its familiarity.

Grooming essentials:
Pankhurst London. I love the Moulding Cream – it works perfectly for my hair. I also love the Head To Toe Shampoo.
Mr Hayden Cox
Founder and designer, Haydenshapes Surfboards

Grooming essentials:
Anything Aesop. I find its cleanser is best for removing zinc after a surf. Le Labo’s Thé Noir 29 Perfume Oil for fragrance.
Mr Lewis Alexander
Founder and CEO, Lewis Alexander Executive Search

Grooming essentials:
The only fragrance I wear is Escentric Molecules’ Escentric 01. It’s discreet and based on a chemical compound that reacts uniquely to each person – luckily in my case always resulting in compliments.
