The latest lines with lots of lines to drop on MR PORTER.
We dread to think how many times we must have used the phrase “check mate” when writing about checked patterns, such are the pitfalls of writing about clothes. So we’ll have to buck our ideas up and think of some more square-related platitudes, won’t we. Check these out? Well plaid? No, no, no – that won’t do at all. Let’s forget the cute wordplay and just focus on the clothes instead, shall we?
In our mix of What’s New products today, we have a fine collection of clothing – all of which happen to be in a check pattern. We say “happen to be”, but we picked them, so we made sure they were.
Anyway, if you’re a fan of check, you’re well in business, because you have examples of the pattern that cover the main pillars of your wardrobe. There’s the thick overcoat by Prada (not ideal for current weather if you reside in London, of course, but a good investment with autumn around the corner). Alternatively, there’s the Isaia button-down Oxford, which is slightly more suitable for summer months. Or if you need something smarter in check, go for the Dries Van Noten trousers. Lastly, we have a rather standout wool overshirt by Aspesi. Something for everyone, then. If you like checks, that is.
