Downtime: Luxe Loungewear That’s Too Good To Leave At Home
Words by Emma Pradella
5 November 2022

It’s been a while since we last paused to reflect on how, two years ago, loungewear made its way into our wardrobes totally unannounced. Well, the good news is that wearing loungewear beyond the bedroom, or even out of the house, has since become the thing. And we can see why – doesn’t swaddling yourself in sumptuous fabrics feel like the biggest act of self-care? Whatever the case, we’ve decided to adopt a hedonistic philosophy here: if it feels good, do it. From silk-satin boxers to shearling slippers and pyjamas that shouldn’t be confined to the house, here’s what you need to unwind in style.

01.
The Loro Piana meditating pillow
Loro Piana’s padded cashmere pillow needs no introduction. You’re relaxing after a long day, decide to practice gratitude and align your chakras to get a good night’s sleep. Does meditation really get any better than this? That’s our mantra.

02.
The Manolo Blahnik shearling slippers
If you’re anything like us, as soon as you kick off your shoes, you’ll want to slip in something that’s just as stylish as whatever you left the house in. This is where Manolo Blahnik’s slippers come into play – the fuzzy shearling makes them extra plush.

04.
The Desmond & Dempsey pyjama set
Printed pyjamas are one of Desmond & Dempsey’s many masteries – all the brand’s patterns are painted by hand in its London studio. Inspired by Monaco of the 1950s, this army green two-piece needn’t be reserved for lazy Sundays: the shirt will work just as well as an off-duty staple.

05.
The Elder Statesman ribbed socks
Socks are those items of clothing we usually don’t give much thought to, but as the slip-on shoes and socks trend continues to rise steeply, it’s about time we give this item of hosiery some attention. The Elder Statesman’s are knitted from cashmere and dyed a muted off-white shades that makes a welcome alternative to white or beige.
