From Singapore to San Francisco, we asked nine guys on the street to style the new collection their way.

You’re probably aware by now that this week, MR PORTER is launching its own menswear brand, Mr P. Maybe you’ve seen Messrs James Henry, Michael Salu, Tomo Campbell and Mathias Mentze taking the debut collection for a spin in our new video series. And there’s a good chance you’ve seen other men trying it out on our dedicated @mrp Instagram feed. Or there is even the possiblity – we hope so, anyway – you’ve received the email announcement and have been counting down the days ever since.

By way of explanation, the thread connecting all our activities in this the launch week is the idea of Mr P. being worn in the real world, and all over it. The whole ethos of our own brand is to provide all men, whatever their postal address or job description, with a collection of clothes that are easy to wear, effortlessly stylish and very well made. To prove our point, we asked 24 of our friends and customers from around the world to style some of the pieces from the debut collection their way. They’ll be sharing the results during an all-day takeover on @mrp in the first 24 hours of the first drop of the collection going live on 7 November, with the second drop following next week.

Below, you can find a few photographs of the guys. But it doesn’t end there. In fact, you could be featured alongside them – show us how you style the Mr P. collection by posting an image of yourself wearing it, with the hashtag #MrPMyWay. We’ll be sharing our favourite shots on the @mrp Instagram account from now on.

“Milan is amazing,” says landscape designer Mr Derek Castiglioni, “every day there is something new. The creativity is sparkling and for me and my work I can ask for no more.” The green-fingered favourite of the fashion crowd who has created gardens for Boglioli and Stella McCartney,  selected the wool overcoat as his pick of the Mr P. collection. “An overcoat – especially a navy blue one – is a piece you cannot miss in your wardrobe.”

When Mr Pauli Lovejoy isn’t DJing or playing his guitar you’ll find him “relaxing at Soho Farmhouse, burning some palo santo, listening to a Maya Angelou audiobook”. The musician describes his style as “cosy chic” and claims his gold Jeremy Scott slides are the most treasured item in his wardrobe. “The white Oxford shirt is an undeniable men’s staple,” he says of his favourite Mr P. piece. “Every wardrobe needs one of these.”

Brazilian-born Mr Wellington Braz lives in Barcelona, where he runs his own creative agency, W/Braz. His favourite place to work is “sitting on a terrace, watching the ocean and listening to deep house”.  To relax, he is likes nothing more than rollerblading between Barceloneta and Bogatell beaches. With the city’s laid-back vibe, he tends to wear “a casual look, like blue jeans and a polo shirt. That’s my footprint”. He chose the striped slub shirt.

Mr Elias El-indari’s day job is head of branded content and marketing at Sport360, a sports news provider. He is also one of the Middle East’s biggest influencer’s in the luxury and menswear spheres, regularly working with the world’s biggest brands to create content on his @eliaselindari Instagram feed. To relax, he likes to read the latest issue of Monocle Magazine, or brushes up on his cooking while listening to Tame Impala. His favourite piece from the Mr P. collection is this Oxford shirt, which he describes as “a wardrobe staple that every gentleman should have – and you can pair it with almost anything, from denim jeans to a pair of shorts”.

Mr Ruben Alves doesn’t do favourites. Choosing to divide his time between Paris and his native Lisbon, he has the best of both cities. “Paris has its arts, and Lisbon its authenticity.” When he isn’t zooming around Paris on his Vespa or soaking up the sun on one of Lisbon’s many terraces, the award-winning film director is “writing, directing, acting, producing… or doing home renovations.” He chose the round-neck sweater.

Communications manager Mr Jason Lim (aka @jsnjnr) describes his style as “minimalist chic. I love denims, monochromatic colours and oversized pieces.” In his spare time, he likes to explore Singapore in search of “beautiful locations to shoot, and a great cup of coffee.” He chose the Mr P. chambray shirt as his standout item, which he says is “comfortable and breathable – even in hot-and-humid Singapore”.

Visual and interaction designer Mr Stewart Bean spends his Saturday mornings cycling through San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park or the Presido before stopping for breakfast. “I’m an early bird, and it’s important for me to have solo time to recharge.” He describes his style as clean cut, “but I’ve recently been letting my curly hair grow, to push my look in a new direction.” He chose the textured merino sweater.

Mr Jonathan Pryce, AKA photographer @garconjon, made his name as a street-style photographer for the likes of Vogue Hommes and MR PORTER. Also a coffee connoisseur and keen cyclist, comfort is key when it comes to running around the fashion capitals capturing the world’s best-dressed. “My clothes need to be adaptable,” he says. “Practical and hardwearing.” His favourite Mr P. item is the herringbone coat. “For me, it’s always the coat that completes an outfit. Most of my other items are quite basic but with a great overcoat you can make anything look cool.”

Photographer and football-enthusiast Mr Mounir Raji lives in Zaandam, just outside of Amsterdam. “Even though I don’t live there, I spend most of my time in the city because of my work,” he says. “Amsterdam is full of talents it gives you the feeling that everything is possible.” His favourite item of clothing is an oversized sweatshirt and he is pictured here wearing the Mr P. cashmere sweater. “I chose this item because I knew I could easily combine it with items I already have… and it feels so soft.”
