A fresh influx of items on MR PORTER has brought our attention to some high-quality boots that are marching on to site. And, in a week where we have been discussing all things concerned with masculinity – it seems rather fitting that we focus on the more robust, manly footwear that we have to offer. After all, summer isn’t always about espadrilles and sandals. The sun isn’t always shining. R.M. Williams has been making shoes for more than 80 years. It was founded in the Australian outback by a bushman called Mr Reginald Murray Williams. Which is just about the most masculine brand backstory we’ve ever heard. And if these are sturdy enough for the outback, they’ll definitely withstand your city commute (assuming you’re not a particularly style conscious Australian shepherd). Plus, they’ll only get better with age. So feel free to wear these throughout the year.

Crumpled, matte and soft – desert boots are always going add a sense of ease and relaxation to your outfit. But these from Italian brand Marsèll – made with washed, distressed leather and crepe soles – feel like desert boots on a third cocktail at the start of a two-week holiday. Pair them with a laidback combination of a simple T-shirt and this Faherty indigo field jacket for a weekend look that feels simultaneously summery but mature.

The latest season of our blockbuster brand Kingsman has landed and, although we’ll be writing a full report on the new collection on Friday, we couldn’t resist discussing an early arrival today. We’re obviously a fan of these boots as they’ve been designed exclusively for us. However, it’s not just personal bias that makes them fantastic boots. They’ve been handcrafted in England by revered shoe maker George Cleverley.
